Project Description:

Located on the campus of the Riverside UHS Medical Center in Moreno Valley, CA this project has a long history in the making but was completed in December 2019.  It started as a Design Competition in the late ’90’s with Integrated Care Communities Master Plan and was acquired under new ownership / joint venture between StoneCreek Company and Strategic Medical Properties to build the skilled nursing facility.

As one of the first SNF designs for GM+A, our Design Philosophies were in the early stages of development, but goes to show how how good design overcomes the different variables with the long term care industry.  The (3) separate buildings connected by pedestrian bridges inherently provides outdoor courtyards that allow for natural light and continuous lines of sight from different areas of the buildings.  The resident wings and dining room face onto an open area of the Child Day Care’s playground, and serves as a continuous reminder of the Circle of Life concept that ICC had envisioned for the campus.
