Project Description
Dr. Carl Rowe had a vision for the assisted living and memory care for his Integrated Care Communities campus, where residents can live in a small neighborhood and feel right at home. His out of the box thinking, allowed GM+A to develop a series of small “homes”, which was a series of resident rooms that surrounded the central open living room, dining and kitchen – similar to what most people are familiar with.
Designed as 4 separate buildings at around 5,500 SF, each provided intimate communities between residents. With 2 designated as Memory Care, the initial 24 private rooms could not support the increasing demands and was licensed as semi-privates in 2010; which in turn better served the residents with dementia.
