Being an intern at GM+A means having the opportunity to do a variety of things: designing projects, visiting construction sites, participating in office workshops, and working on marketing content.
A typical day might include writing proposals, working on the schematic design of a project, drawing construction documents, and preparing invoices. Midday officewide meetings are regularly held, where topics like project brainstorming or software tutorials are discussed. Pictured is a Lumion Lunch & Learn, where a project designer explained his rendering workflow from Revit to Lumion to Photoshop. Interns are exposed to a wide array of software programs that help take a project from start to finish. One may also work on the design of marketing material, ranging from website content, office brochures, email newsletters, to GM+A's annual t-shirts.
Interns are able to visit the growing number of GM+A's projects undergoing construction. Pictured are visits to the Oceanside Skilled Nursing Facility in progress. Interns were exposed to the project management aspect of the profession, and took a walk through the two-story facility.
