We are excited to announce that we will be participating in CANstruction Orange County this year!
For those that are not familiar with the event, CANstruction is an international design competition involving architectural firms, engineering firms, contractors, and other similar professions. For the 2012 Orange County event, twenty one teams are participating to construct elaborate structures made out of
canned goods. The structures will be displayed at South Coast Plaza September 1- 23, 2012. At the conclusion of the event, all of the food will be donated to the Orange County Food Bank. The Food Bank then provides this food locally to people in need.
Here at GM+A, we devote ourselves to improving the quality of life for seniors – through our work this has been our constant goal. Because of this event, we now have another opportunity to help our seniors, as they constitute many of the individuals served by the Orange County Food Bank.
Since 1992, this event has contributed over 17.5 million pounds of food throughout food banks within the community in an effort to fight hunger. Join us this year to help those in need! We will not be revealing our concept just yet, but our structure will be built Friday, August 31st, overnight at South Coast Plaza, in front of Macy’s Home. Please come by and take a look, and vote for us at: www.ocfoodbank.org/canstruction/survey2012.html
We wanted to extend a special thank you to Keiro Senior HealthCare and the Orange Coast Optimist Club for helping us turn our display concept into a reality and for being the true examples of the values behind our concept! Also, we would like to thank Wheeler & Gray, Inc. Consulting Engineers for all of your support.
Stay tuned for our next blog update on CANstruction Orange County!
