Integrated Care Communities

Maedo Architects won the Integrated Care Communities' design competition for its innovative "Circle of Life" concept. The campus design houses a children's day care center, and adult day healthcare center, an assisted living facility, and a skilled nursing facility with the aim to provide a continuum of care through all stages of life within the same community. This design allows for the residents to age in place, granting the ability to develop and maintain a strong community while concurrently promoting health and emotional wellbeing for all its residents. The campus also attempts to reach beyond its primary residence purpose, providing opportunities for teaching and learning in conjunction with the County Hospital and the University.

The campus has undergone construction in multiple phases, starting with the assisted living facility, the child day care, and most recently the skilled nursing facility, completed in 2019. The last project phase, which includes the adult day healthcare center, is yet to start construction.
