[pullquote_right]“And God said, Let there be light and there was light.
And God saw the light, that is was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.”
– Genesis 1[/pullquote_right]

Light is one of the fundamental elements of our existence. There cannot be human life without light. As architects, we create spaces, and the quality of the spaces we create is bound to the light they encapsulate. Light has the power to convey emotion, affect health, and define activity within a space. Light dictates our habits, our actions. In the presence of light, it is day. In the absence of light, it is night. To harness the power that light has over people is to govern the functions of the space. It is our duty to use that power responsibly.
